About me

A Little More Detail

History:

I have been a professional exterminator for a few yrs. now. 1 of the most troublesome pest I have ever encountered, are the (never ending) bed bugs. The most common request made was killing them safely without the chemicals. Of course I was obligated to explain, there are other killers that are odorless and supposedly aren't dangerous to the environment either. Here's a few:

Most Common Bedbug Killers

Problem:

I have created this blog because there are More safer ways then sprays,... I should say, More Effective ways, then sprays. Because spays are effective in most cases but i have personally seen cases, where the bugs become immune to a specific, often, used spray, just over short periods of time. In my opinion I believe,... being that the sprays do not kill eggs as they often claim. The eggs often are left to saturate in sprays, in hopes to kill the offspring but,...I think its that same method,... that is making them become immune by being born in that "specific" household spray that were using! In my opinion sitting in it., over such a period of time, makes them accustom to the smell and chemicals., AGAIN this is just my opinion on the situation. But the fact does remain that these bugs often become immune to a number of sprays.

Solution;

I most commonly use rubbing alcohol. That's right rubbing alcohol. I put it into a empty spray bottle and I spray the most infected area/areas. I usually spray it after I give it a good steaming job. Like i mentioned a number of times STEAM is our best defense on these bugs. Heat is the only thing that kills them in all stages of their life cycle. Sadly we are the only bait.... so get use to getting up as early as 4am (there peak hrs) to 6am. Fill your steamer with water and in minutes, you will have the most effective but affordable bedbug killing on the market. It has a auto switch that you just push up on while holding the steam trigger and it holds it in the "ON" position. NOTE: wrapping a cloth around the attachments will, not only focus the steam, making it more effective, but also calm the psi pressure which would naturally blow the bugs around. A tap with the cloth affixed to the steamer head would kill them instantly, but holding the steamer in a place for seconds would kill a population of them in that very spot!!!
The steamer advertised by most professionals & bedbugs sites would look something like this:
But again, I am a professional and I don't recommend braking your pockets for a steamer like that, which i wont lie, its probably, wonderful,.. but so is this one and its so much cheaper:
Or, if the color is not of your liking here's a nicer looking one:
I Like to be as honest as possible and I'm a pretty straight forward guy. I know there is a lot of us out here that like to do this ourselves and this is definitely not an exception. A professional will charge you a couple thousand just to get rid of your bed bugs because of all the visits needed, and the attention it requires, not to mention the equipment!
So do it yourself and save yourself loads of money at the same time! I know I would.
Thanks for reading.
